The development of the biology discipline in the School of Life Sciences is aiming for an internationally advanced standard. To achieve this goal, we will strengthen our collaboration with other world-leading institutions and participate in those major international research projects. The school provides special fundings support for both students and faculties to apply for international vising scholar programs. Currently, we have successfully established close collaboration with Oxford University, Cornell University, University of Florida, Université fédérale de Toulouse-Midi-Pyrénées and Nanyang Technological University, with abundant exchange opportunities each year.
International collaboration in higher education leads to breakthroughs in knowledge, the free exchange of ideas, and enduring bonds between institutions and nations, which is important more than ever in modern era. The School of Life Sciences will take an active role in participating those international research projects and platforms. During the 14th 5-year plan, our aim is to establish strategic partnership with at least three of the world’s top 100 universities or institutions. Revolving around the those national internationalization plans such as international collaborative labs, research centers and 111 projects, our goal is to establish at least one national collaboration platform with world-famous university. We will also recruit more foreign top-notch talents. Currently, the school already recruited one fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and three professors, who give high-quality international courses to our undergraduate and graduate students each year. We will recruit more famous scientists and establish collaborative platforms and multidisciplinary research centers with international impact in the future.
